The U14s won their opening fixture of the season on Sunday, beating Chiddingfold in the 1st round of the Surrey County Cup by 10 wickets at Glebelands.

Bowling first on damp and grey morning, Chiddingfold got off to a great start racing to 63-0 by the half way point of the innings. But after the introduction of spin the run rate started to slow and soon wickets began to tumble as Oscar and Will H bowled 8-0-23-5 between them, backed up by some excellent fielding and catching. Chiddingfold managed to bat their overs though and managed to end up on 114-9 from their 20 overs.

This proved to be no problem though as Cranleigh chased down the target in 10.5 overs to win by 10 wickets, with Isaac retiring on 40 after crashing 6 fours and 2 sixes from only 15 balls faced; it might have been different if his first six had been caught right on the boundary - fortunately for him it was carried over (was a great catch!). After Isaac's retirement, Hugo and Alex guided the team home to seal the win.

So overall a great way to start the season - Farnham await in the 2nd round!
