Thunder Win Again

On a glorious summer’s morning at Farnham, the home side won the toss and elected to take first advantage of what looked like a great batting surface. Despite the excellent batting conditions, our bowling attack kept things very tight indeed with Harry Lancaster and Arlo Knight returning particularly miserly economy rates, ably supported by Toby Barriball (1), Freddie Swayne (1) and Will O’Flinn (2) as wicket takers. On a sloping pitch the fielding needed to be tidy and was. Restricting Farnham to 274 was a superb effort and our batsman set about the run chase briskly. Toby (21) and Oscar Pilling (15) led the way backed up by Eddie Hoy (13) and Harry (12). Special mention to Benedict O’Flinn who was press ganged into answering a very last-minute call to arms to produce a spectacular piece of fielding to save a certain 4 and outscored his brother in the batting (14).
