Hello Parents,
Happy new year from everyone at Cranleigh CC. The nights are starting to get a little longer and I picture those longer summer evenings on the common already.
2022 is shaping up brilliantly. As I mentioned in my previous newsletter, preparations are well under way, with unprecedented levels of investment being put into our Junior section this year. The next step is to open the membership so we can understand and start preparing for the numbers we will get in each age group. Priority for spaces will be given to existing members up until 28th January when we will open membership to all. Full details on how to sign up are at the bottom of this letter.
Our 2022 subs are:
Junior Cricket
U9’s and below £90
Girls U10's and above £110
Boys U10 and above £140
Two children or more including parents social and playing membership £250
Senior Cricket
Senior playing £120 (discounted to £90 by 1st May) plus match fees
Students (boys and girls) 17-23 £40 plus match fees
Womens team £40 plus match fees
1. The nominal increase in subs vs 2021 simply reflects the money we are putting into junior cricket with the aim of having the best provision in the county. Our subs remain highly competitive vs other local clubs
2. Boys and girls subs for U9’s and below will be the same. The provision of cricket at these ages is identical and we have almost reached our goal of a 50/50 membership split between boys and girls. Something we could have only dreamed of a few years ago
3. For U10’s and above girls will pay slightly less than boys. This is so we can continue to try to recruit more girls at U10+ to the club and aspire to that 50/50 split in all age groups
We are pleased to be able to offer winter nets to all of our junior section as part of our membership. These will be led by Jack Scriven and Hannah Jones, with more detail to follow on exact dates and times but mark your diaries for 13th March for the first session. Please note: due to the clubs insurance we can only offer them to those who are signed up and paid.
Equally we have a couple of age groups that already have very strong numbers and we will have to start waiting lists if we get a significant uptick in recruitment, so I’d ask you to secure your place, for this season, as quickly as possible.
Finally, as ever, my plea for helpers. If you would like to put your name down to be a coach, team manager, pull some pints on a Friday night etc please do let me know. It doesn’t have to be every week, 1 in 2 or 1 in 3 would be brilliant and make a HUGE difference. With our numbers swelling, many hands really does make light work.
We look forward to seeing you all very soon. Either at the winter nets or at the start of the season (Thursday 21st April for girls and Friday 22nd April for boys). In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
