Dear Members of Cranleigh Cricket Club,
I am delighted to share some truly fantastic news regarding the Connecting our Community through Cricket project to build our new clubhouse.
Waverley Borough Council (Strategic CIL Fund) has awarded our club £937,720 towards our overall target, and Your Fund Surrey (Surrey County Council) has awarded us £99,000. We are also working with the Surrey Cricket Foundation and ECB to secure additional funding which will be important as part of the overall effort.
The news of this incredible support brings us significantly closer to starting work on rebuilding our clubhouse and creating a space that will serve players, families, and the wider community who will all have better access to our facilities, for generations to come.
While these grants are a major milestone, we still need to raise £120,000 this summer to reach our final target. With your help, we can absolutely achieve it.

Our biggest fundraising event will take place on 14th June, and your support, whether by attending, volunteering, bidding, or donating, will make a meaningful difference. We are also gratefully welcoming auction items, so if you or your business can contribute something, it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me directly if you can help.
There are many people to thank in getting us to this point – Management Committee members who have worked tirelessly on a voluntary basis for the last three years since receiving planning permission, private donors who have so generously contributed, sponsors who have supported us through our highs and lows, and of course our coaches and players who fly the Cranes flag high, every summer.
This is a generational moment for the Cranleigh community, and Cranleigh Cricket Club. Together, we can finish what we’ve started and build a clubhouse and facility that reflects the spirit, ambition, and unity of our wonderful village.
Finally, thank you for your continued support – lets celebrate together and make 2026 a huge final year in our current clubhouse which holds so many good memories for generations of families in Cranleigh, since it was built in 1959!
Warm regards,
Rob Warburton
