Golf Day 2019

A great day of fun, laughs, golf and prizes. Twenty-four players, new members and past associates took part in CCC inaugural Cricket World Cup Golf Day. The format was based on the stableford scoring system with points relating to runs and wickets. Players (some with decidedly dodgy handicaps) scoring 4 stableford points get 6 runs. 3 stableford points 4 runs and so on. When teams score less than 5 stableford points per hole, a wicket falls!

A cricket quiz question (on each tee) stimulated the grey matter and the more cerebral CCC players (do we have any?) Watching Paul Bedford (on the 13th hole) cover drive the ball on to the 3rd fairway brought back memories!

Preecy was on the buggy offering refreshments and making sure Crumpy wasn’t knocking out the Cranleigh GC ladies with his massive drives off the tee!! Jim Cronk did us proud with one his famous Katsu Curries back at CCC. Thanks to all, who made this a great day. Scriv for organizing participants, Paul Gibbs for helping with scoring and Preecy for organising the golf and booze buggy!

Thank you also to Cranleigh Golf and Country Club for your hospitality.
